But anyhow, overall I really enjoyed this past week's viewing. I found Maya Deren's Meshes of the Afternoon to be an incredibly interesting view into the psyche of a tormented woman. It's hard to tell yet what she was tormented with, but the presence of the knife and the telephone definitely symbolized violence and lack of/mis communication. I think the cinematography was well orchestrated, especially when she's floating and the world is slinging her from side to side up the staircase.

What the hell?
Eaux d’Artifice was quite possible the worst thing I've ever watched. There was seriously no point whatsoever. IMDb can't even say anything more than an elegantly dressed woman runs past a bunch of water fountains. The part that bothered me the most is that I couldn't find any symbolism. She just runs... and runs... and runs.... obviously to somewhere, and she must arrive! And the plot must continue! But she just keeps running... and running... and oh! Here's another close up of different fountains. It embittered me. But perhaps that was the point? To show a journey (and some elaborate fountains).
