Pornographic Aspects of Cinema

Hello all,
I know this title sounds like something we would normally avoid discussing, but I have a feeling that many of the flicks we are going to watch will have a great deal of sexuality, if not nudity, in them. After all, it is avant-garde and may often deal with the taboo, right? Honestly, the male preoccupation with the female body is not news to me, and I'm aware that the female form has often been used in art because of its beauty, but I was surprised at how extensively it was used in those pre-cinema toys we learned about in Neke's film. Was anyone else made a bit uncomfortable, I know I was. And just the fact that there's so much female pornography compared to the one or two male profiles we may have seen in Neke's film. Is this due to the time period when these toys were made, a time when men had many more rights than women and could get away with pornography, while it would have been considered more indecent for a woman to view porn? Please don't get me wrong, I am in no way angry that there was not more male porn in Neke's film. I just think the prevalence of nude female figures in these toys should be discussed.
