Caligari

Personally, I was more impressed by the acting than the framing device.
Sure there were some characters in the movie that were rather cheesy (Jane), but I felt like characters like Caligari and Ceasare really played their parts well. I really liked the close ups on Caligari and how he moved his eyes to the side(see picture). Caligari was an excellent character and the actor who played him,Werner Krauss, really did an awesome job bringing Caligari to life. Ceasare also did a good job with his facial expressions, but i felt like he couldve done a better job with the way he moved around and went about doing things. However, I really liked how he woke up whenever Caligari summoned him.
On a different note, I loved how the music complemented the movie. The sporadic guitar, thumpin' bass and the ever-changing time changes in the drum really added a whole new dimension to the movie. I can recall one scene in which Ceasare was about to kill Jane and when he grabbed her there were cymbals crashing and wild guitar sounds I looked around and many of the people in the room jumped, myself included. From the music to the acting this film really was great all-around
